Imagination

aloft

on winged bird

begets Prayer

Contemplation

and

imagination

paint holiness

heart brushes

dappled with Spirit

stroke love

Imagine that

Wind rushed Door

Swings wildly on Fickle wind

Streaming through my land

I remember

A soul memory

Last year

Maybe last life

Eyes ablaze and bedazzled

Heart pulsing beauty embraced

Spills to oceans of mythic memory

Mosaic tiles of love and beauty

Rebuild the Icon that is me.

I bow before it in

Gratitude

like warm oil it

Fills dark crevices I know well

Now gone

A thief

Stealth by light of day

Brushed in velvet darkness

A jewel hidden

my sextant rests

Blue Madonna & Child

In June I began to experiment with using Renasaisance religious images as a base for some of my collages.  I have long been drawn to this period of art especially images of the Holy Mother and Child.  In my exploration I found a source of public domain images and began to play with them, marrying them to mandalas and photographs I have taken.  It has been prayer for me to spend so much time with them listening to State of Grace and State of Grace II by Paul Schwartz.  A true meditation with all senses burning.  So far 23 image/meditations have come from this marriage.
