Objective:  To train students to edit their digital media (photographs or scans) using basic and intermediate techniques.  Students should be able to alter: hue/saturation, brightness/contrast, and the opacity of images as well as crop images using the “Rule of Thirds”.  The student should also leave with a basic understanding of layers how to apply type to an image.

 

Who should take the course:  Photographers, artists, scrapbooks, and quilters.  Anyone who has the desire to begin the journey into image editing.

 

Pre-requisite:  Basic familiarity with an software.  The ability to open the software and be able to save to specific files to specific locaton.  Understanding of the concepts of software commands such as: open, new, select all , copy, paste, crop are very helpful.

 

Required for the class:  Laptop, image editing software (Elements, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro), digital media (pictures, scans)
