Objective:  To train students to create multi-layered/images, photographs, and works of art using an image editing software like Photoshop Elements or Photoshop.  To further be able to use the layer manipulations functions to serve as tools to enhance the creativity of the outcome.

 

Who should take the course:  Photographers, artists, scrapbooks, and quilters.  Anyone who has the desire or need to combine multiple pieces of digital media together in a creative manner.

 

Pre-requisite:  Basic familiarity with an image editing software.  The ability to open the software and be able to save to specific files to specific locaton.  Understanding of the concepts of software commands such as: open, new, select all , copy, paste, crop,  proportion.

 

Required for the class:  Laptop, image editing software, digital media (pictures, scans)

 

Layers:  Creating, ordering, deleting, blending, opacity changes

Masking:  creating, editing

Adjustment Layers: adding, choosing, editing

 

Layer manipulation:
